This Site has been developed to keep older, (and non playing) members of Old Actonians Rugby Club up to date with the Band of Brothers that is The Old Oaks Veterans.

This corner of the internet will also serve as a focal point for all ex members to pass on details of get-togethers, reunions or any special event that may involve beer.

If it’s one thing that Old Actonians can do, besides lose a game in the first fifteen minutes because we were too busy cracking jokes whilst getting changed, finishing off that third Guinness or losing the kit/the front row/John Dory’s underpants down the A3, then it’s knocking back a jug or two.

So if you’ve any news, gossip, or deep secret that’s been troubling you since that tour to Amsterdam and you just HAVE to confess to a trusted mate in the strictest confidence, then point your mouse over to the left and make your way to The Bar! where your favorite pint and a meat pie awaits!

Samson Center Long

Yes indeed the great Northern One is allegedly getting fit and is following the likes of Russell Fletcher and Andy Stacey in a marathon cycle ride to Paris.

Terry is planning the trip for the annual London to Paris charity ride on 28 July 2010.

Now, the cost of this has been borne by Terry himself, so ALL MONIES RAISED WILL GO DIRECT TO THE SAMSON CENTER.

You can register your interest and donate here at http://www.justgiving.com/terence-mcguire

Give Terry and The Samson Center your support and encouragement as I’m pretty sure he’ll need need it.

As to why on earth anybody wants to cycle to Paris is beyond me, I mean it’s not as though the view from the Eiffel Tower is any good (it’s of Paris). Now if you could see London I’d be impressed....

Occasionals’ Tour of Hong Kong

Hong Kong 7's Stadium

Our most ambitious tour so far sees the chaps go to Hong Kong to see the 7’s, meet up with some old pals, squeeze in a game of rugby, oh, and a couple of quiet beers on the terrace.

(followed by a lot of really noisy ones down the town of Wan Chai)

New Season Starts Soon!

Season 2008 - 09

Feltham2

First off we must thank Stuart “spreadsheet” Barclay for the leg work on this one, with not inconsiderable help from Simon Taylor, top of the line hosting from Bob Taylor and the Valley RFC.

Valley RFC 22 - 14 Old Actonians

OK we lost the match, but it has to be remembered that it followed an 16 hour flight with a 2 hour stopover in which time Pierre Erasmus managed to get drunk, sober up, get drunk again and still managed to play out of his skin head.
